Deep in post-production on my first film as director, Messages in Bottles. With estimable editor, Kant Pan, on board (he of Crying Game and Dangerous Liaisons) and some fantastic original music by ex Boo Radley, Martin Carr, I’m hoping to do justice to the amazing work of cast and crew during the busy and all-too-brief shoot.
I’m always pleased to discuss current and future work so please don’t hesitate to get in touch: ewenglass@gmail.com

Work continues on ‘Commonwealth’, a Boston-set crime drama, co-written with LA-based screenwriter / producer, Ted Collins. Collins is also producing Fairuza Balk thriller, Dose of Reality, and setting up his crackin’ comedy spec, They Might Be Kennedy’s.
Can’t say too much about Commonwealth at the moment but it’s a really exciting prospect, a story about starting anew in the face of family pressure, set on the rough streets of South Boston.
Keep an eye out for Collins’...

I’ll be a delegate at this years London Screenwriters’ Festival at the end of October. Attendance sponsored by Northern Ireland Screen. The countdown’s already on for the many great opportunities this event presents, not least Speed-pitching, Q&As and the chance to get out of the writer’s bubble for a few days! Hope to see you there.

I’m really excited to be able to announce that the award-winning Gull Films will be producing Upwardly Mobile from my script. The short will go into production January 2012, with a view to a festival run later in the year.
One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. A scruffy wastrel searches the park for something sparkly and beautiful. But why?

A day of unexpected phone calls. In a good way. A feature opportunity presented itself and, with a strong hook and some great backers, I’m looking forward to starting work on a treatment in a matter of weeks. The other call was about a short script I wrote a while back. More details as and when.
The below picture is a mere representation of my phone, though it would probably pick up 3‘s signal just as well.
